ABS Fairings uses ABS plastic, the same general type of thermoplastic used extensively in OEM motorcycle fairings. However, OEM manufacturers may use proprietary plastic formulations that include specific additives, modifiers, or reinforcement materials to achieve particular characteristics such as increased impact resistance, flexibility, durability, or heat resistance.
Our fairings are manufactured using ABS plastic selected for the demands of aftermarket motorcycle applications. While the material is comparable in general composition to the plastics used in OEM fairings, the exact formulation can vary between manufacturers and is part of each manufacturer’s proprietary manufacturing process.
